In a refreshing break from the general bilge of television news, I stumbled across this cracking blog called 'UK shamed again...'. It combines all the statistics you need to know about the UK in comparison with our European counterparts.

To be honest, it's pretty bleak reading (although statistics are only quoted when Britain features relatively low-down in any survey) but it highlights some of the reasons why this country does not have the highest quality of life in the world.

In all honesty, it should be a lot lot higher, right?
